Patrick Vieira named Senegal head coach

Patrick Vieira has been appointed head coach of Senegal, the country of his birth. The former Arsenal captain takes over from Pape Thiaw. Senegal reached the last 32 of this summer's World Cup before being eliminated. Vieira had been out of work since leaving his job as manager of Serie A side Genoa last November. It is his first international post, returning to the nation he represented as a player.
