Pato-backed consortium completes Northampton Town takeover

A consortium including former AC Milan and Brazil forward Alexandre Pato has completed its takeover of Northampton Town. The deal was confirmed by BBC Sport. Pato, who also played for Chelsea during a loan spell, is part of the group now in control at the League One club. No fee or further details of the consortium have been given. Northampton have not yet said who else is involved or what the change means for the day to day running of the club.
