FIFA backs plan to pay federations from World Cup revenue

Gianni Infantino has backed a tentative plan that would see FIFA share World Cup money directly with its member associations. The proposal came from UEFA and Concacaf and follows record revenues from this summer's tournament. Infantino said he is in favour of it. Nothing is signed off yet. The idea is to move some of that cash down to national federations rather than keep it at FIFA level. Talks on the details are still to come.
