Eamonn Fitzmaurice confirmed as new Galway football manager

Galway have confirmed Eamonn Fitzmaurice as their new football manager. He takes over the senior side after a spell as a prominent figure on the Football Review Committee chaired by Jim Gavin. Fitzmaurice knows the inter-county game well and arrives with that committee work behind him. Galway will be hoping he can steady the team and push them on. That is the job ahead for him now.
