Arsenal were in for Vinicius Jr but could not get him. Mikel Arteta wanted a big attacking signing and also missed out on Julian Alvarez. The claim doing the rounds now is that the failed Vinicius chase worked out well for Arsenal, with the club described as having dodged a bullet. Vinicius stays at Real Madrid. Arsenal go on without either target.
