Richard Hughes leaves Liverpool sporting director role

Richard Hughes has left his role as Liverpool sporting director. He told the club's ownership he wanted to step down and "seek a fresh challenge". Hughes had been in the job since the summer of 2024, arriving from Bournemouth. His exit opens another gap in the Liverpool hierarchy as the club plan their future under Arne Slot.
