Dan Robathan retires as Premier League and FIFA assistant referee

Dan Robathan has retired from officiating on medical grounds. He spent more than 20 years as an assistant referee, working in the Premier League and for FIFA. A statement has been released confirming the decision. Robathan is one of the more experienced assistants in the English game, so his departure leaves the top flight's pool of officials a little thinner.
